Astor was a failing color cosmetics brand, still strong in select European markets. Rather than revive the brand with the faces and attitudes of 20 + year old women, I drew upon the faces of mature woman, portraying them as sophisticated, yet highly flirtatious "femme fatales"
introducing the rare phenomenon of a masculine presence in color cosmetic ads. Today,
after only two years, Astor has regained dominant market share in five European countries. As a result, Brune Advertising, won last year's best new French Agency of the year award.
