From naming to concept development, LBLM worked with the client and their
team to define and develop the world first totally eco-luxe, glamorously
green, zero carbon footprint resort and residential complex.
In the premiere edition of Forbes Life, the ad was placed inside-front-cover
with the CEO of the company, Kimberly DeLape later being invited to the
Forbes CEO conference as a result. In addition to winning multiple awards,
Kimberly was further recognized as one of America¹s rising female CEOs.
Although eco-conscious luxury remained the premise of the project, whimsy
and fun were not ignored. The legend of the Emerald Monkey was created as a
way of building a connection with the location/culture and the romance of an
island retreat.
Kimberly DeLape , Emerald Monkey¹s CEO, speaks about the concept of Emerald Monkey for Forbes online.
Harmony, unity, tranquility – this is the philosophy which guides Emerald Monkey Eco-Luxe Resort and Residences. Inspired by Caribbean and Eastern influences, this exquisite Bocas del Toro hotel melds sustainable five-star luxury with a carefree resort experience, creating an ecological paradise of unparalleled beauty and conscience. We are among the first carbon-neutral luxury communities in the world, and each detail has been designed to limit the impact of the resort on its pristine environment. Our 76 elegant, intimate villas are built using sustainable building materials according to Balinese tradition, and have left the surrounding trees, exotic landscapes, rolling hills, and large volcanic boulders virtually untouched. The Moon Orchid restaurant serves a delectable – and organic – blend of Caribbean and Indonesian cuisines. At the tranquil Emerald Bamboo Spa, guests will be able to relax in harmony with nature as they enjoy a fusion of holistic, anti-aging, and rejuvenation treatments. The Emerald Monkey provides transportation on private boats to and from the resort.
